Agile in the Cloud: A Case Study

The Agile project methodology is one that relies heavily on collaboration between team members for success but how does it work when the team doesn't have the advantage of co-location? Join this session to learn about the fundamentals of Agile practices (via the Scrum flavor used by UCSF), a discussion of a real-world UCSF project using Agile, and the CA Agile Vision tool on the Salesforce cloud platform.Collaboration is at the heart of the Agile methodology, as reflected in the Agile Manifesto: individuals and interactions over processes and tools, working software over comprehensive documentation, customer collaboration over contract negotiation, and responding to change over following a plan. With a proven and greatly increasing track record of success for projects that have adopted Agile, there is no question that Agile is a worthy topic for discussion in any community of technologists.Though Agile relies on daily collaboration among the team, it can be done successfully with a remote team. A case study of the use of Agile in the ATHENA project will be presented, analyzing both the challenges and techniques to overcome challenges.
