When making travel arrangements, keep the following in mind:

  • Sunday, August 4: A welcome reception will be held at the Anthill Pub & Grille in the UCI Student Center (level two in the student center map) from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. No other UCCSC events are scheduled for Sunday.  The reception includes hors d'oeuvres but you are responsible for your own dinner.  A light jazz trio led by Jacob Wendt will provide atmosphere at the reception.
  • Monday, August 5: Breakfast and check in are at 7:30am with the first event (the opening plenary session and keynote address) beginning at 9:00am. The final session will end at 5:00pm.  Lunch is provided, as well as afternoon snacks, but you are responsible for your own dinner.
  • Tuesday, August 6: Breakfast is at 7:30am with the first sessions starting at 8:30am. The final event (closing plenary and Larry Sautter Award presentations) will end by 1:00pm. No other "official" UCCSC events are planned after 1:00pm on Tuesday. However, there may be additional BoF sessions or other casual groups meeting in the afternoon.  Breakfast is the only meal provided on Tuesday.

A more detailed schedule is available on the home page.

Local Hotels

On-campus housing (dorm housing) is not available for this event.

Several blocks of rooms have been reserved at special conference rates at four local hotels.

All hotels are near Orange County John Wayne Airport and have limited free shuttle service to UCI. ("Limited" means the shuttles run on a limited schedule.)

Campus Parking

All visitors who park vehicles on campus are required to display parking permits, either from your home campus or those purchased at UCI.

UCCSC will be held at the UCI Student Center at the corner of W. Peltason Dr. and Pereira Dr.  Maps will be provided at registration, but you may wish to consult these online resources.

Orange County John Wayne airport serves UCI and is only 2 miles from the campus.

Drivers can easily reach UCI from the airport, or from the 5 or 405 freeways.
